No heroes, no villains. Just flawed people. Just another bit of story in a world filled with stories of beauty and pain.

The start of this song was the line "He smells her perfume in the air, and reads the writing on the wall." It just appeared in my head and challenged me to write the rest of the story. The second writing prompt was the little shelf in our hallway where either of us leave our wedding bands from time to time. We take them off for workouts or travel or even just to apply sunblock. The idea of coming home to an empty house with a wedding band left behind took hold. Of course it had to be a country song.
